Floyd Mayweather beats Manny Pacquiao in the fight of the century

In the most anticipated fight of the decade and the richest bout of all time , Floyd
Mayweather Jr. beat Manny Pacquiao in a unanimous decision.
Pacquiao was the more aggressive fighter, and thrilled the heavily pro-Manny crowd
in the middle rounds with a few left hands to Mayweather's jaw.
But ultimately Mayweather's legendary defense was too good. While Pacquiao threw
a ton of punches, he could never get inside on Floyd, and most of his flurries
amounted to nothing.
In the end, Mayweather was Mayweather. His defense was fantastic, and he got in
enough counters to do damage: The judges scored the fight 118-110, 116-112, 116-112. The consensus in the boxing world is that it was the correct decision.

Pacquiao disagreed. "I thought I won the fight," Pacquiao said after the fight. "He didn't do nothing." Pacquiao didn't get destroyed in this fight, as some thought he might. But he might be the only one in the world who thought he won the fight. Mayweather is 48-0, and rightfully so.

MORE TROUBLE IN P-SQUARE VILLA, AS PETER GOES SOLO

There seem to be more trouble and break up looming in Psquare Villa.
Barely two days after a new round of family squabbles between PSquare duo of Peter and Paul Okoye, one half of the P-Square music duo, has kicked-off with ‘Dance Nigeria with Peter,’ a TV reality show.

While Paul was listing out the most popular songs he has written and produced for the group, Peter is set to officially kick of a show of what he knows how to do best; dancing. With an hip hop appeal, Dance Nigeria with Peter is touted by organizers as the first Dance Reality TV show that will bring about a whole new dimension to dancing in an exciting display of talents, all wrapped up with suspense and indecision of the judge/ mentors.
The jury comprises Peter Okoye alongside dance Queen Kaffy and Nigerian hip hop dance choreographer, Flex. Evidently, the other half of the twin brothers, Paul Okoye will have no role in the new project, said a source.

According to Peter Okoye, “This show is going to revolutionize the way Nigerians see dance. I am so happy to have on this project the best Nigeria has to offer when it comes to dance. We believe that dance has the power to put this nation on the map. Charity begins at home, so let’s dance Nigeria,” he said.

The competition will be open to individuals from different dance backgrounds, be it solo, group or duet. Auditions will be held in June across four major cities in Nigeria (Jos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Lagos) and also include street battles to make up the final 30 that will move to the competition phase.

Congo Republic bans full-face veil for security reasons

Authorities in Congo Republic will impose a ban on wearing the full-face
Islamic veil in public in order to tackle a security threat from people using
it to conceal their identity, the head of the Congo's Islamic Council said on
Saturday.

Many of the Muslims in the oil-producing central African country come
from French-speaking West Africa or Arab nations, Bopaka said. Less than
10 percent of Congo's 5 million citizens are believed to be Muslim.
Neighbour Cameroon has been plagued by attacks by Islamist militant
group Boko Haram in its northern region. Thousands of refugees have also
fled to Congo from neighbouring Central African Republic, where Christian
militia have targetted Muslims in the south of the country.
Islamic Council head Djibril Abdoulaye Bopaka said Congo's Islamic
community, which he estimated at some 800,000 people, was in agreement
with the measure after what he said were reports of individuals using this
kind of veil to carry out illegal acts.

Violence erupts in Baltimore as roving gangs attack police, torch patrol car, loot stores following Freddie Gray funeral

This is Freddie Gray died April 19 of injuries suffered while in police custody.

Several police were seriously injured, looting and rioting broke out in a downtown section and gangs that normally war with each other pledged to attack cops, as hell broke loose in Baltimore Monday following the funeral of a black man who died in police custody earlier this month.

The rioting, looting and threats of further violence followed the funeral of Freddie Gray, who died April 18, a week after being injured while in police custody. Gray, 25, was being transported in a police vehicle when he suffered injuries that proved fatal. On Monday, police said an online call was issued for a "purge" at 3 p.m. ET, starting at Mondawmin Mall and ending in the downtown area. The type of threat
threat is based on a movie called “The Purge,” whose plot involves rampant lawlessness.
Looters were seen dragging merchandise out of several businesses near the mall, as armored SWAT vehicles were on the scene. The FBI was assisting in the investigation of threats against police, and cops from Prince George's County and Washington DC were sent to Baltimore to assist. Meanwhile, nearby University of Maryland-Baltimore has closed its campus, as have many area businesses. Police advised parents to get their children home to safety.

Gray asked for medical help several times, beginning before he was placed in the van. After a 30-minute ride that included three stops, paramedics were called.
Authorities have not explained how or when Gray's spine was injured.
Police acknowledged Friday that Gray should have received medical attention on the spot where he was arrested -- before he was put inside a police transport van handcuffed and without a seat belt, a violation of the police department's policy.

Kenya: Cow 'starts eating sheep' on Nakuru farm

A farmer in Kenya says one of his cows has given up its usual vegetarian diet and started eating sheep.

Charles Mamboleo, who runs a farm in south-western Nakuru County, discovered the cow feeding on a sheep one morning, having apparently gored it to death, the Daily Nation website reports . Fresh food and water couldn't tempt the cow, and another sheep met its end the following day, the report says. "After the
first incident, we thought the cow was starving, so we increased the supply of fodder and water, but it still continued chasing after sheep," says Mr Mamboleo.

While cows are herbivores, developing a taste for meat could be a sign of a nutrient deficiency, according to a local agricultural officer. "The dry season, which has just ended, has seen most animals lack minerals found in green grass," Albert Kabugi tells the site. In 2007, a calf in India's West Bengal region was filmed
eating chickens. A local vet said he suspected a lack of vital minerals was also to blame in that case, noting that it could happen in "exceptional" circumstances.
